J…  I can imagine the wonderful time you were with your friends. I don’t do dancing as often a
s before, but like it much, esp. spinning myself around in the rain, the more cats & dogs the be
tter. :-)  

Just envision a romantic picture…  dancing in the rain with him and swear to yourself that you 
will never share it with anyone else but him. The rain becomes a special chemistry together….  
I can now sense little giggles escaping from someone’s joyous lips around me. :-) :-) Can it be
 just a fantasy or else? Anyway, better than none, right?

I still miss those upscale nightlife in Savannah where I was with the GS… a lifestyle being so 
diverse and lively. I can easily find dance clubs with varied themes in town and leave various e
stablishments to be satisfied with. But the real draw is the music, every mid-night local night 
clubs bustling with local and tourists use DJs to spin records to take up a notch with certain t
ypes of music genres and entertaining sets often involving audience and their bartenders & wait 
staff to provide an inclusive atmosphere. In blues clubs, I won’t feel like I’m in the south u
nless there is a lick or two of blues guitar or sax drifting on the nighttime smoky air. Besides
, in Savannah there are plenty of Irish and Scottish pubs with kilt wearing waiters and Highland
 brews since there is a large Celtic fringe populations in the city. 

Many bars offer drinks speicals every night of the week, and great late night eats from a surpri
singly diverse kitchen menu. I may however miss a few dances and wait to order while enjoying wa
tching those intoxicated people on the dance floor.  It's been over 15 years and some bars names
 and details I can't even remember, but still miss. :-) :-)

Wow! Look forward to it. J….. I tend to listen to older sixties singers such as Dusty Springfie
ld , Aretha Franklin and Carole King. The song “Don’t Know Why” by Norah Jones. .. being inst
antly transfixed by her smooth, smoky laid back vocals, contemporary jazz with a plaintive soul 
tinge. I was lucky to be able to attend her concert in Paris when she began her European tour in
 summer of 2007.  Now, you know I am a jazz lover. :-) :-)

J.   As other outer-neighborhood Chicagoans, I tend not to choose high-rise Chicago’hood, but p
refer to have a lifestyle having backyard barbecues, fishing, and a cricket on every window ledg
e.  Although the houses in North Shore suburbs of Chicago (Kenilworth, Winnetka, Lake Forest …)
 are incredibly expensive, they are beautiful, safe, private, and yet not even 30-40 minutes fro
m the city; also a perfect location to raise a family. 
Chicago, also known as the Windy city, is a city you can experience the midwest's version of the
 big-city lifestyle. It's theater district located in downtown Chicago offers many Broadway play
s and musicals. The downtown Loop and beautiful lakefront is famous for a multitude of things to
 see and do…. full of great shopping, outdoor recreation, restaurants&bars , entertainment, arc
hitecture, and attractions; also many upscale spas, plenty of offbeat, fun activities to be unea
rthed in Chicago and environs.
On Friday’s night, I like to have a good head on a pint of Smithwicks in a downtown jazz club o
r pub to mingle with friends. Next time when you are in Chicago, try a pint of beer and jazz at 
Velvet Lounge, Andy’s Jazz, or Underground Wonder’s in the Chicago Loop between State St. and 
Michigan Ave. where they may be very close to your friend’s condo. I surely love to join you if
 I have that honor. :-) :-)

JW,  Indeed, high-rise tower condos offer an enjoyable lifestyle, including luxury amenities. Fo
r a few who tower over everyone else in the tower at the top of the skyline, up there with lots 
of floor-to-ceiling windows, the views are panoramic: entire city, parks, rivers, some half doze
n bridges and a whole lot of sky. Through those enormous panes of glass are truly breathtaking v
iews. It is so striking that the views might send you stumbling for something to hang on to.

JW,   Still counting? So sorry for ruining your vacation. We all are aware of that not everythin
g that can be counted counts; not everything that counts can be counted. Lots of things are way 
beyond our reachable. This is a real life, isn’t it?

JW, it is true. Having an “Eugene” in her life, once could be a dreamy, romantic, sorrowful, o
r playful encounter, twice might be an overdose, third? Not only her, it could drive all of us c
razy.

On the other hand, when she recounts a real-life encounter, how many times did she meet with “a
 boy asked for her number and called” ? how many times did she meet with “a boy never asked fo
r her number and never called”? and how many time did she meet with “a boy never asked for her
 number but called”?

In fact, I am freezing instead. :-) :-)

The Midwest was hit hard by high winds and snow with an intense storm which crossed the region t
his past week. I live in Lake Forest, a suburb locates approximately 30 miles north of downtown 
Chicago. It is one of the nine suburban North Shore communities bordering Lake Michigan. Snow ta
llies hit 4 inches at our suburb last weekend though, last Thursday evening's burst of accumulat
ing snow in the city followed a day in which only flurries, barely 0.3 inch of accumulations, we
re able to flutter to earth in the city and nearby suburbs because of dry air in the lower atmos
phere.  It was just like the lovely China Forbes wearing her favorite Oregon fashion designer El
izabeth Dye’s bridal collections on her way to the mid-west. :-)

Anyway, enjoy your immaculate beach vacation. The beaches with soft sand, fresh air and crystall
ine water are often the best way to get rid of all the stress. Enjoy reading some good books on 
the beach, or diving, windsurfing, …. Enjoy every minute!

Me? Well, I may take the alternative to a vacation by staying home and tipping every third perso
n I see. :-) :-)

I really don’t know. You got me with that one. The persons with deep pockets who live in Seattl
e are the billionaires like Bill Gates(Microsoft) and Jeffrey Bezos (Amazon). But both purchased
 the G-V several years ago. 

I like the group.  Their music, especially "Hey Eugene" has an instant groove and great chord ch
anges providing a retro feeling that I personally like. The lead singer China Forbes performed t
he song "Hey Eugene" on David Letterman when I sat in the show 3 years ago. Nowhere else you cou
ld find a so amazing mix of jazz, latino and broadway-like music. Later I attended her performan
ce on stage at Apollo theatre in London in the same year.
